Bellevue Neighborhood Association
Established in 2006, the Bellevue Neighborhood Association is a non-profit 501c3 organization that promotes Bellevue Kentucky and the growth of the community by improving Bellevue's parks, gardens, and planters with outreach programs for neighborhood improvement, tree & garden planting, and historic education.
Our goal is to promote Bellevue Kentucky and its historic value through education, advocacy, and committed actions to enhance quality of life and develop a stronger sense of community.
The Garden Team works with city staff to keep Bellevue's public spaces beautiful and blooming. Each season a variety of plants and flowers are designed, placed, and maintained throughout the city. The efforts of the Garden Team truly contributes to the charm and appeal of Bellevue.
Each year the Historic Home Tour showcases homes in a different Bellevue neighborhood all decorated for the holiday season. The tour highlights Bellevue's varied architectural aspects and the history of the neighborhood. This tour offers the visitor a unique view of Bellevue not found during any other season. Proceeds assist the Bellevue Neighborhood Association in promoting neighborhood history, beautification, growth, and stability.
Begun in 2011 with assistance from the Campbell County Extension Office and the City of Bellevue; the Community Garden is a place for Bellevue residents of all ages and gardening experience to share and gain knowledge on growing and gardening. Located at the end of the alley between the 400 blocks of Foote and Ward Avenues, the Community Garden's harvest is shared and enjoyed among the gardeners and neighbors of "Blossom Alley".
With an understanding that trees add to the allure and value of a community's neighborhoods; BNA partners with the City of Bellevue's tree board to replace damaged, dead or diseased trees in our parks and public rights of way. This program not only adds to the aesthetic beauty of Bellevue; but, educates our citizens on environmental contributions of a healthy and vibrant urban forest.
Continuing the mission of "Transforming Bellevue, One Block At A Time"....each year a different neighborhood block is selected to receive new curbing, street resurfacing and additional street trees. An added bonus is a financial grant of up to $200.00, funded through BNA to help homeowners remove unsightly chain link fencing and assistance in selecting a more appropriate alternative.
Following the suggested guidelines for Bellevue's historic districts; the Bellevue Neighborhood Association assists any property owner in Bellevue with a financial grant of up to $200.00 to remove and/or replace a chain link fence fronting a public right of way,(no back yards). Grant applications must be submitted and approval given before any removal or replacement can occur. Funding is limited and applications are review on a first received basis.
The Bellevue Neighborhood Association continues the tradition begun by the former Bellevue Civic Association by annually erecting a Christmas Nativity Scene in Bellevue's Nagel Park.
Throughout the year the Bellevue Neighborhood Association may host selected fund raising events to support the work in keeping Bellevue a beautiful, and exciting place to live, work or visit. Such events have been a holiday wreath sale, a garden bulb sale or Buckhead Mountain Grill dinner nights, where a percentage of your dining bill is returned to BNA.
The Bellevue Neighborhood Association's monthly newsletter, the "Bellevue Current" keeps members and friends of BNA up-to-date on what’s happening in Bellevue.
