President – Ed Lovett

Address: 128 Bonnie Leslie Ave

Background: I came to Bellevue 10 years ago, drawn by the architecture and hometown feel. I spent the first year in dust and dirt as I learn what renovating a 1920’s house was all about. One project leads to another and it takes a good plan and sheer will to get things accomplished while not breaking the bank. I would like to bring these qualities into the presidency of the BNA.

I have a degree in Housing and Interior Design from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where I learned that living in a town of historic buildings did not mean that you needed to stay dated, but that you can look and plan for a brighter future while still maintaining everything that is loved from the past. I have taken that philosophy with me into Bellevue’s Historic Preservation Board where I have been a board member since May of 2013. My degree also taught me how people interact with each other and their environments and how those interactions influence positive things for their communities. I believe that BNA is the catalyst for building the community here in Bellevue—through the planters, Christmas decorations, gardens and Drink in the Vue, a real pride of hometown is achieved.

Professionally I am a Realtor with Star One where I see every day the importance the community pays on the price of homes and outlook of the residents. Since joining the Bellevue community I have fostered a sense of neighborhood on my own street by planning social events such as a progressive happy hour, back yard summer bar-b-que, and annual Halloween front porch parties so neighbors have a name and sense of who the person is when they see and wave to that neighbor two or more doors down when they are out in their yard.

My number one goal as president would be to oversee and insure that the great work the BNA currently accomplishes continues but while adding the new and lifetime members from our community who aren’t currently involved because they can bring new ideas and volunteering time for the many projects going on throughout our city.

Vice President of Membership – Liz Haas

We moved to Bellevue in August 2012. Although the move was supposed to be temporary, my husband and I quickly fell in love with Bellevue and decided to make the move permanent. I have an environmental science/policy degree from the University of Florida. We moved to Cincinnati from Florida in 2009 so I could attend law school and I am currently an environmental attorney with a small firm in downtown Cincinnati.

What I love most about Bellevue is how beautiful it is and how friendly the people are. I am very grateful for the warm welcome we have received here and we truly feel at home. Therefore, I would like to be a Director of BNA so I can give back to this wonderful community, help welcome new residents, and continue the good work of the BNA to keep improving Bellevue while maintaining its unique character.

Treasurer – John Neyer

Steve is serving his fourth term as treasurer and is currently employed at Tom Rechtin Heating & Air Conditioning Co., Inc.
